The Kzinti Patriarchy is a rather old medium-sized stellar empire on the far side of Romulan and Klingon space and is the official state for the Kzin race. The Patriarchy while roughly the size of the Gorn Hegemony is the polar opposite of the Gorn. The Kzinti Patriarchy is similar to feudal Europe on Earth. The ruler of the empire is called the Patriarch, and he is the final arbitrator on all matters concerning the Patriarchy. The Patriarchy keeps a great deal of information from its citizens.

The Patriarchy is a Empire built on conquest, with many conquered species becoming Kzinti slaves and meat animals. Kzinti occupation on its conquered worlds was an exercise in extremes. These worlds became colonies and forward bases of the greater Kzinti Patriarchy. Aggressiveness and the belief in domination of the weak convinced the Kzinti that they are the unquestioned lords of creation, and believe military expansion and subjugation of other races to be their birthright.
The Kzinti are a race of aggressive predatory carnivores native to the planet Kzin in the Beta Quadrant. Kzin is a larger world than Earth, with gravity 1.55 times that of Earth standard and its year is roughly one and a half times longer than Earth's. Kzin is also a very dry world with harsh conditions similar to Vulcan.
The Kzinti are renown for their impatient, aggressive, and unreasonably impulsive attitudes, but also have developed an uncompromising sense of personal honour, courage, and duty. Kzinti are bad-tempered, take offence at almost any slight, and have a society and a code of honour that compels them to react violently if an apology is not immediately forthcoming. The same code of honour also permits no apology if the Kzin in question believes himself to be in the right. Kzinti society is male dominated with females treated as property or favourite pets, kept pregnant to maximise the number of heirs. The males and heads of families often have a harem of females to fit his nobility and position in the Patriarchy.
The Kzinti Patriarchy shares boarders with the Klingon Empire and Romulan Star Empire.
The Mirak Star League is the military force of the Patriarchy, more than half the Kzinti population is in the military and the Star League trains soldiers when they come of age, normally 8 years old. Kzinti vessels specialise in long range warfare and are the only species known to use missiles as a favoured weapon.
Kzinti vessels are always engaged in hostilities with their neighbours and are known to travel great distances to attack a species.
